NEW YORK CITY- Turnbridge Equities, a national real estate development andmanagement firm, has unveiled plans for a 1.24-million-square-footlast-mile distribution center in the South Bronx located at 980East 149th St. The center is said to be the largest in New YorkCity to date, situated on a 14.2-acre assemblage in a designatedOpportunity Zone.

Turnbridge has said the propertywill stand four stories tall and will be a Class A Bronx LogisticsCenter, offering direct tractor-trailer ramp access on threelevels, van access to the fourth level, 1,400 parking spaces, and arail spur that gives tenants an option to connect to CSXTransportation freight lines at the nearby Oak Point RailYards.

Due to the large site'stopography, the Bronx Logistics Center is said to be one of thevery few buildings in the United States that offers separate,dedicated truck ramps to the various levels and will be the largestmulti-story distribution facility in the region and the only onethat provides a rail transport option. Features include electriccharging stations, dedicated car-pool areas and an extensiverooftop solar panel system.

"We acquired the last of five parcels in December and plan tobreak ground later this year," said Turnbridge Equities managingprincipal Ryan Nelson in a prepared statement. "We are excited tobe moving forward quickly, given the incredibly tight market andsurging demand for Class-A distribution space in New YorkCity."

The Bronx Logistics Center is situated less than two miles fromthe Hunts Point Food Distribution Center and connected to severalmajor highways and various subway lines. It is just off theBruckner Expressway, less than 10 minutes from Manhattan's UpperEast Side. LaGuardia Airport lies just across the East River viathe Bronx Whitestone or Triboro/Robert F. Kennedy Bridges, and JFKInternational Airport is only a 20-30-minute drive.
