Sam’s Southern Eatery to open on Evansville's North Side

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Evansville is getting a second Sam’s Southern Eatery — this time on the North Side. 

The restaurant is set to open at 3904 North First Avenue, the former location of a Spudz N Stuff. 

The chain has a casual atmosphere with a menu that includes family-portioned meals. 

Sam's has appetizers like fried okra, fried pickles, and green tomatoes.

As far as entrees go, they have a wide assortment of seafood like shrimp, catfish and crab cakes. Their sandwich options range from po’boys to burgers.

Sam's Southern Eatery opened its first location in Shreveport, Louisiana and now has over fifty-one locations across the south.

The North First Avenue location will be their second one in Evansville. There is another location at 420 S. Green River Road.  

A manager at the First Avenue location said she expects they will open the first week of March.
