The Sioux Falls Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), are offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information related to a homicide of a pizza delivery employee in eastern Sioux Falls this week, according to an ATF press release Friday.

In addition to the ATF reward, Domino’s Pizza is offering up to $10,000 from various franchises across the U.S.

Casey Paul Bonhorst, 30, was gunned down at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 2800 block of East Bragstad Drive just south of 26th Street near Cleveland Avenue.

Bonhorst had just delivered a pizza to a residence on the street at about 8:41 p.m. After the delivery was made, neighbors heard gunshots, Clemens said. Two minutes later, a caller reported to police that a man was lying in the road.

He died at the scene.

Witnesses then told police they saw and heard a man run from the scene, wearing a light-hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants, Clemens said. It's unclear how the person who ordered the pizza may fit into the situation, and any potential motive remains unclear, he said.

“This was a tragic and unnecessary crime,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge William Terry Henderson, of the St. Paul Field Division. “We are committed to finding justice for the victim and his family.”
