EVANSVILLE, Ind. — An Evansville man had to be revived twice with NARCAN after he reportedly crashed his vehicle into a parked car Thursday afternoon.

The man's name hasn't been released by police as he hasn't been arrested yet and remains hospitalized. If arrested, he faces three charges — operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, operating without insurance, and operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic offender with a prior offense.

Evansville Police received a report of a crash at North Fulton Avenue at West Delaware Street around 1:05 p.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they found a man behind the wheel of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer on the sidewalk, crashed into a parked vehicle.

The man was pulled unconscious from the SUV by Evansville Fire officials who administered NARCAN twice. He smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage, according to the probable cause affidavit. Police were unable to do any of the standard field sobriety tests due to the man's condition. At the hospital, a blood test was taken.

Police discovered the man was a habitual traffic offender for life since 1997, had a number of violations since his license was suspended for life, had no proof of insurance and was at fault in the crash.
