The Citrix Workspace app is an easy-to-install app that provides access to all your applications and desktops via Citrix Workspace. While it is an easy application to install, getting the the Citrix Workspace URL and custom settings specific to users and devices just right might sometimes lead to a help desk call or two.

The new Citrix Global App Configuration Service, now in tech preview, gives Citrix administrators the ability to deliver Citrix Workspace service URLs and Citrix Workspace app settings through a centrally managed service.

A newly deployed device is a great example of why end users and administrators will appreciate this new service. When a new device is deployed, a user is expected to know their Citrix Workspace (store) URL and any customized settings that go along with their Citrix Workspace app experience, such as audio and display settings.

It is important to note that during our tech preview of this service, administrators should visit our developer portal for detailed instructions on how to use our Citrix APIs to centrally configure the Citrix Workspace app. As of the February 2020 public app store release of the Workspace app for iOS and Android, support for this tech preview has been made available for customer testing and Windows is soon to follow.

One thing to keep in mind: The settings configured during tech preview will be migrated over to our public release of the service when made available. Any settings completed will simply just carry over.
