Parson concerned about ’20 spring flooding potential

Missouri Governor Mike Parson says he is concerned about flooding again this spring, “The biggest worry we all have for me right now is we haven’t got fixed from last year. So, you know, if we happen to have a wet spring or flood stuff in these waters come up, we’re going to have problems.”

Parson met in Washington with other governors and the president a few weeks ago about flooding concerns, “All the way from the Dakotas. Had the opportunity to talk to the president himself about some of the issues that were concerning us. He seemed to be engaged on that. He said he would try to help with that so that was very encouraging for him to even get to that.”

The flood of 2019 along the Missouri River started almost a year ago, “It’s sad. When this all started March 11^th of last year, seems like a long time ago, but just less than a month ago we finally got back to normal.”

There are a lot of saturated soils and farmers are anxiously watching the weather as spring planting season approaches.
