[unpaid/ad/sample] When I was given this product, I was told it would be the best pore cleanser I’ve ever used. Well, I have to agree that there is something special about it – against the odds because it just looks like a pot of powder paint.
I don’t have particularly large pores – they’re bigger than they used to be but I’m not prone to blackheads, at least, not yet. The powder is a mix of Kaolin clay (exfoliating), calcium carbonate to absorb oil and impurities, zinc oxide to regulate oil production and promote healing, and Aspen bark for anti-bacterial benefits and to act as a preservative within the powder.
You use it by dabbing a damp pad (cotton wool or re-usable cotton) onto the surface of the powder where it immediately forms a light paste on the pad. You then press it over your face wherever you need it most (nose perhaps) or all over – it feels like you don’t have enough but you do (don’t treat it like a face mask in application level) – and leave for up to ten minutes. When the time has passed you simply rinse your cotton pad and wipe off. The result is a mattified complexion that’s soft, clear, brighter and – this is the miraculous bit – looks at though you’re wearing a blur cream. £12 very nicely spent HERE.

Hi Jane, would all the ingredients be pregnancy-friendly do you think?
Well, I’m not a scientist nor have medical knowledge so I’m not sure I’d be happy to sweepingly say yes, of course. But Victoria Health has a great customer service department – I’d give them a call if you have concerns but I have a feeling they’d say check with your doctor. You could do a bit of Googling on each ingredient because there aren’t many so probably wouldn’t take long – just for your own peace of mind.

Interesting, I have been wondering about this brand for a little while – any other recommendations?
I am looking at the Fulvic Acid products – particularly the hair care to try … have used the Neurophroline Serum and love it and ditto for the Hyaluronic Acid.
I love this type of product ever since I tried Body Shop’s Venetian facial chalk many moons ago (sadly they discontinued the product). Have been using Waitrose pure Cleansing and exfoliating powder which is the nearest alternative I have found. But will definately try the GOW powder.
