[unpaid/ad/sample/affiliate] I very rarely wear concealer although I do have dark circles and sallow tone so if I wanted to have a more uniform look to my skin, I should really. But, you get to a point where your complexion likes less not more and the skin under my eyes are a case in point. Just about everything I put under my eyes (other than foundation or tint) seeks out fine lines and settles there for the duration. I don’t mind having lines but I do mind deliberately exacerbating them. However, one of very few concealers I have ever found that doesn’t do this on me is Dior. The other that I can think of off the top of my head is L’Oreal True Match.
Dior makes a light feeling concealer that has enough fluidity that it doesn’t straight away go dry. It’s really critical for under the eyes (unless you are entirely line free) to have a formula where the powder and the fluid don’t separate on the skin. I think this is a nice blend – although if you have dryness under your eyes, nothing is fool proof in that respect. You can add in some serum to existing concealers to help them stay moist if you like.
You can see by the gloss on this that it’s moistureful but add more if you want to. The wand is a biggie and carries a lot of product on it so be careful you don’t over-load. I liked this on myself – it went on smoothly and didn’t immediately crinkle up my under eye skin which is totally a win. I noticed it stayed in one tiny patch but I put that down to it being a dry patch on me and not a reflection on the product which is super smooth. Otherwise, there was no issue even after a few hours wear. I also used it on redness round the sides of my nose – once again, a nice, medium coverage finish that took the redness right down which is all it was required to do.

Like you I avoid concelar as I’ve never found one that doesn’t settle into lines. So I’m interested but can you explain warm , cool and neutral. Have tried looking at the veins on my wrist and cannot decide if they are blue or green.
The best way to look at is to simplify. Your tone will naturally have it’s own personality – put your hand on a piece of white paper and take a reading like that – it immediately helps identify the contrast. You might look a bit yellow against the white or perhaps more pink – you might even note tones of blue but we are talking very nuanced tones. Basic info is that warm tones are usually more golden or yellow (more obvious against a white paper backdrop), cools will have a more pink aspect and all neutral means is that you might have a bit of everything or anything)! Because everyone’s skin behaves differently if you do find it settling, add a tiny drop of oil, serum or moisturiser and see if it does better like that. For those of us who have ‘settling’ issues, you’re never going to get a concealer that completely conceals because you need to much, but you can reduce rather than eradicate.
If your veins look neither blue nor green then you have neutral tones (usually a peach-ish tone).
I’ve holding out for a new concealer hoping for a hydrating one! I’m surprised that you’re the second lightest shade (apart from 00) though so I imagine that the palest will be far too dark for me, sadly.
I am a big fan of BFF eye from Trinny London. It never settles in lines & actually makes undereye area less dry.
I bought this concealer the other week, I find it works great on my under eyes and I have very dark purple/blue/red circles due to sinus problems. Nice creamy texture.
As for undertones, I can be different with different brands neutral, cool or even warm. I was matched to c2 in the Dior. Strangely the cool shades that suit me are not pink but peach undertones.
I think it’s something you have to swatch in store before buying x
