South Dakota corn harvest 94% complete

The corn and sunflower harvests continue in South Dakota.

The USDA says 94% of corn is harvested, compared to 90% at the end of December, with the USDA is resurveying producers this winter and possible changes to the state’s 2019 production total this spring.

96% of sunflowers are harvested, 9% more than a month ago.

76% of winter wheat is in good to excellent condition, up 3% on the month, and almost the entire state has adequate to surplus soil moisture levels.

The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
