Nebraska wheat rating down on wetter weather

Wetter than normal weather led to a decline in winter wheat conditions in Nebraska.

The USDA says surplus soil moisture levels increased from the end of December to the end of January, leaving 59% of the state’s winter wheat crop in good to excellent condition, a decline of 11% on the month. 31% of the crop is rated fair, up 7%.

The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
