Most of Arkansas wet, warm in January

The USDA says January was wet and warm for most of Arkansas.

Average rainfall was 1.2 inches and the average temperature was 43 degrees.

The wet weather has made conditions muddy for many livestock producers, but the warm temperatures have helped winter wheat stay in good condition.

The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
