Police looking for driver of vehicle that struck a Pa. state trooper during traffic stop

A state trooper received medical attention after being hit by the mirror of a passing vehicle during a traffic stop in Dauphin County early Sunday morning.

Trooper Rene Rios was hit in his left arm by the passenger side mirror of a passing Jeep when he walked up to a stopped vehicle, according to investigators. 

The incident occurred around around 1:00 a.m. while Rios was conducting a traffic stop on I-283 north, according to the crash report.

Rios sustained minor injuries and was treated at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

The Jeep did not stop, and according to police, would now be missing a passenger-side mirror.
