Hanover woman struck by car while crossing road Saturday night, police say

Hanover Borough Police are asking for help in their investigation of a 31-year-old Hanover woman who was struck by a car Saturday night, according to a news release.

About 9:12 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a crash involving a pedestrian in the 1000 block of Carlisle Street.

Once on the scene, police discovered that the woman — whose name was not released — was struck by a 2007 Honda Civic driven by Jordan Eyster of Hanover. The woman was crossing the road at the time, the release states.

"The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and was not using a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident," according to the release. "She was flown by helicopter from the scene to York Hospital with serious injuries."

The police department was assisted on scene by Hanover Area Fire and Rescue personnel.

No further information on the woman's condition was released on Sunday.
