York man arrested in Jan. 18 shooting that injured one, police looking for other suspects

York City Police have made an arrest in connection with a man being shot in the stomach earlier this month, according to a news release.

Wadie Danfora, 30, of York was arrested on Friday and has been charged with kidnapping to facilitate a felony robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm prohibited, simple assault and false imprisonment.

He was denied bail and is being held at York County Prison, according to court records.

Police responded to a report of shots being fired in the 700 block of Chestnut Street around 3:50 p.m. Jan. 18. Officers found the man who had been shot in the stomach, according to a news release.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to York Hospital for treatment.

Through an investigation, police determined that the victim had been targeted and "had prior dealings with his attackers," the release states. Other suspects were involved.

Police continue to investigate the shooting and are asking for help from the public with any more information about the crime and other suspects who were involved.
