Ventura County Sheriff deputies engaged in a vehicle pursuit with commercial burglary suspects from Camarillo into Los Angeles County on Wednesday afternoon.

The theft suspects were first reported at 11 a.m. at the AT&T store at 1955 E. Daily Drive, Camarillo with a second theft later reported around 12:13 p.m. at AT&T in 180 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy in the area of Westlake Boulevard not far from the second theft noticed a vehicle that matched the description of the theft suspects and followed the vehicle as it entered southbound Highway 101.

The pursuit continued at a high rate of speed with the suspects failing to yield after the interchange with Highway 405. Deputies eventually called off the pursuit due to the safety risks.

Later reports indicated the suspect vehicle had crashed into two cars on the Highway 405 off-ramp at Victory Boulevard with the suspects fleeing on foot. A carjacking was also reported in the vicinity shortly after the crash but it was unclear if both incidents were related.

The California Highway Patrol will be conducting the investigation into the crash, while Los Angeles police officers will conduct the investigation into the carjacking, according to deputies.
