One man dead, another injured in shooting at apartment complex on Milwaukee's west side

A 43-year-old man is dead and a 40-year-old man is injured after a shooting at an apartment complex Saturday night on Milwaukee’s west side, according to Milwaukee police.

Officers responded about 5:45 p.m. to the 1300 block of North 40th Street. Authorities pronounced the 43-year-old dead at the scene, and paramedics took the 40-year-old to a hospital for a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

The shootings were possibly the result of a drug dispute, police said. 

Police officials later identified the homicide victim as Cornelius C. Pearson and corrected his age to 42.
