Up to 50 millimetres of rain has fallen across parts of New South Wales and Victoria in Australia, dampening bushfires.
Despite the relief, there are still dozens of other blazes continuing to burn.
The weather bureau has warned that the heavy downpour can lead to a number of issues, such as flash floods, landslides, falling trees and ash running off the water supplies.
However, because it had been so dry, locals are not complaining about the rain.
