Illinois ag leaders appreciate USMCA progress

Illinois ag leaders are thankful for the Senate’s passage of the US Mexico Canada Agreement.

Illinois Farm Bureau President Richard Guebert says the USMCA agreement will “return certainty to the markets as Illinois farmers look for opportunity amid declining farm income levels.”

Illinois Soybean Association President Doug Schroeder who farms near Mohomet says ISA commends the Senators who voted in support of the agreement and looks forward to continuing valuable trade relationships with Canada and Mexico.

Illinois Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth both voted in favor of the agreement Thursday. President Trump is expected to sign the deal next week.
