Pedestrian struck by train in Chambersburg

Someone was struck by a train early Saturday in Chambersburg. 

Chambersburg Police responded at about 4 a.m. to the 1600 block of Orchard Drive, where a male pedestrian had just been hit by a train on the Norfolk Southern railway. 

The victim was found about 100 yards south of the western railway line. 

He was taken to York Hospital's trauma center with serious injuries. 

Police did not provide the victim's name or other details. Police and Norfolk Southern are investigating.
