Ave Maria man killed, three children seriously injured in Collier crash

One man was killed and three children seriously injured in a crash late Wednesday afternoon on Camp Keais Road in Collier County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Wayne Thomas Lynch Wycoff lost control of his 2005 Ford Explorer while heading southbound on Camp Keais Road. The vehicle veered across the center line and into the path of a 2017 Ford Expedition driven by Christina Porter of Naples. The Expedition struck Wycoff's vehicle, causing the Explorer to overturn.

 Wycoff, 49 of Ave Maria, died at Lee Memorial Hospital. Three passengers in Porter's vehicle - Savanna Porter, age 10; Cheyanne Porter, age 9; and Lane Porter, age 7 - were taken to Lee Memorial with serious injuries. Christina Porter had minor injuries.

Wycoff was not wearing a seat belt while all of the Porters were, according to the FHP. The crash remains under investigation.
