Oxnard authorities respond to shooting victim on South G Street

Oxnard authorities investigated a shooting victim reported Wednesday night.

The shooting was reported at 9:06 p.m. in the 3000 block of South G Street. The area is generally south of Channel Islands Boulevard and east of J Street in the Bryce Canyon North neighborhood.

The victim, described as a woman in her early 40s, was found in the rear yard of a residence and transported to Ventura County Medical Center, authorities said. The injuries, to her shoulder area, do not appear life-threatening, Oxnard Police Department officials said Thursday morning.

Police were continuing to investigate the incident, which may have been accidental, authorities said Thursday.
