U.S. ethanol production, stocks climb

U.S. ethanol production hit a near six-month high last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.072 million barrels a day, up 11,000 barrels on the week, for the highest weekly average since the week ending June 28th.

Stocks grew 1.176 million barrels to 21.815 million, but that’s still 1.095 million barrels below a year ago.

The EPA’s 2020 Renewable Fuel Standard volume obligation is under review by the Office of Management and Budget, with the final rule expected to be made public before the end of the year.

The USDA expects corn for ethanol use this marketing year to be slightly higher than last marketing year, with the next projection out January 10th.

  • Does anyone not question how, with the number of plants shutdown, production could possibly hit this level? Because it is more outright lies from the same Administration that produces the crop acreage/production reports that have no basis in fact either. How about some factual reporting for a change instead of just sending out the Party line to appease the Republican agenda?
