Ag data learning curve not so steep anymore

An agronomist suggests the learning curve for ag data is less pronounced than it used to be.

Harmon Wilts covers southwest Minnesota for AsGrow/Dekalb.

“It’s getting a lot easier and simpler. It used to be back several years ago you had to be an expert on a lot of things on computers, now it’s much simpler. And a good example is our tool called Climate FieldView.”

He tells Brownfield the Climate tool records field activity and can be used across most implements.

“All the way from when I’m planting, what hybrid, what population where in the field. When I come through and spray, it’ll keep track of exactly what did I spray and where, or if I’m putting additional nitrogen on. All of these things are right at your fingertips with your iPad or computer.”

Wilts says Climate FieldView also helps farmers analyze data to determine if certain agronomic decisions paid off.
