  1. I get massages. I know they can add up, but they really are great since I have chronic pain. I have them scheduled every other week and if I miss, I notice my stress having very physical effects on my pain and anxiety. For those who can’t afford them, see if you can “trade” with your LMT. I know mine trades a hair cut and highlights with her stylist for a massage, etc.

Also, we don’t have children yet but we have two small dogs. The oldest one is super needy and always wakes me up whining for me to pick her up, wanting attention, etc. On Saturdays, my husband will sometimes keep the dogs occupied and prevent my little one from coming upstairs to wake me up. Just an extra hour or two of sleep makes a world of difference!

Lastly, I am very intentional with my time. I have worked so hard to learn how to say no and protect my boundaries. It’s not always easy, but I’m getting better at it with practice!

  2. Probably should have read this at 3am when I woke up and immediately started thinking about all the things I have to get done and what I know I want to do but won’t have the time to. In addition to 3 kids/2 dogs, coaching, owning a business, in middle of basement remodel project and just this time of year business I’m thinking when will I get my Christmas cards done?! All those ideas sound great but when I look back at my day and say “where is the time I could have spent doing X instead of Z” I can’t find it.
