Greendale High School's marching band has been invited to participate in the Rose Bowl parade.

The parade stretches 5 1/2 miles through Pasadena, California, on New Year's morning, followed by the Rose Bowl football game pitting the University of Wisconsin against Oregon.

The last Rose Bowl parade featured 20 marching bands, 44 floats and 18 equestrian units. In addition to Greendale's band, the UW marching band will also march in the Rose Bowl parade.

The 222-member Greendale band marched in the 2016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York and has won the Wisconsin School Music Association state marching band competition 15 times.
