Woman and dog saved from sinking car near Indiantown share rescue story

"He saved my life," said an emotional Audrey Tucker, of western Martin County, on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, following the rescue of her and her Rottweiler-mix, Hendrix, by Martin County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Anthony Blachowski, assisted by Martin County Fire Rescue EMT Dan McCarthy, after they crashed into a canal Tuesday on Southwest Farm Road near Indiantown. Tucker was knocked unconscious before she awoke and called 911 as the car sank deeper into the canal. "I was screaming for help and no one heard or saw me," Tucker said. The rescuers pulled Tucker out before saving Hendrix.
