10 of My Favorite Things

Most of my favorite things are things you can't buy; they are about family and home. But, here are 10 of my favorite things to buy a loved one in your life. #WomenLivingWell #Giftguide #bibles #cosmetics #macbookw

If you are looking for a special gift,
then perhaps one of my favorite things would be perfect!

Everything on my list is available on Amazon. 😉

10 of My Favorite Things

1. Settle My Soul Devotional: 100 Quiet Moments to Meet with Jesus by Karen Ehman and Ruth Schwenk

This is number one on my list for two reasons. First, it is a wonderful devotional.  And second, it is written by two of my FAVORITE friends ,who happen to be authors.

Check out the dedication page!
Karen and Ruth came to stay at my house and
they surprised me with a copy of their devotional!
When I saw it – I cried!
This was one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me.

2.  5 Pack of Bohemian Stretch Beaded Bracelets for just $14.99 on Amazon.

As you can see below, I have ordered this item twice.  I ordered them once for myself and I loved them so much, I ordered a second package of them to give as gifts to my Good Morning Girls group!

I also ordered this set of 6 Bohemian Stretch Beaded Bracelets for just $12.99 on Amazon

You cannot find these at a better price in stores and the quality is great!  If you look closely, you will see them in some of my recent videos and pictures on Instagram. I wear them a lot. 😉

If you click play on this video below, you’ll see that I’m wearing some of these bracelets in my recent video (along with earrings that are number 9 on my list!).

3.  Faith Forward Family Devotional by Ruth and Patrick Schwenk

If my kids were still little, I’d be reading this daily to my kids!  This new devotional for families will inspire you to raise another generation to love and serve Jesus as you lead your family through the Bible.  In Faith Forward Family Devotional, my friends Patrick and Ruth Schwenk from TheBetterLifeMinistry.com help you pass on your faith with 100 devotions you can do at your own pace as a family. Whatever season of parenting you are in, sharing this devotional time together will help your children nourish a faith that lasts a lifetime. You can grab your copy HERE.

Look at the inside – I love how it has a verse, short devotional and discussion questions!
This is perfect for family devotions!

4.  12 Silver Layered Necklaces for just $16.99 on Amazon!

Have you ever spent $15 on a necklace from a mall store and then it breaks the first time you wear it?  I have.  When I buy trendy jewelry, I usually find that it’s made cheaply.  While the quality of these necklaces is not special – the price is!  I figure if one breaks, I still have plenty left over to wear.  So far, none of them have broken.

These come in a velvet bag and each one is individually wrapped (see below) – so they aren’t tangled and if you want to use them for stocking stuffers you could.

These 12 Layered Necklaces are also available in Gold for $16.99 on Amazon.

Yes, I am guilty of buying these in both gold and silver. I am all set on necklaces for a very long time. Lol!

If you hit play on this video – you’ll see I’m wearing one of these layered gold necklaces in my recent video
(along with my dangle earrings which are #9 on this list).

5. What Matters Most:  A Study of Philippians by Karen Ehman

This is a great Bible study to do with a group of friends!   It is 7 weeks long and includes 7 teaching videos by my friend Karen Ehman.

The world has always been full of trials, disappointments, temptations, fractured friendships, and financial hardships. Yet Paul’s letter to the Philippians claims we can discover contentment and joy in the midst of it all by prioritizing what matters most—Christ.  Over 7 sessions, study the ever-relevant Letter of Philippians to deepen your relationship with Jesus, turn your worries into worship, and develop gospel-centered tools for navigating relational conflict and thriving in Christian love.

Features:

  • Leader helps to guide questions and discussions within small groups
  • Personal study segments to complete between 7 weeks of group sessions
  • Seven interactive teaching videos, approximately 25-30 minutes per session, available for purchase or rent
  • Verse-by-verse study for comprehension and application

Learn to live in joy despite your circumstances!

6.  The Bible Project Coffee Table Book: Illustrated Summaries of Biblical Books

If you have been reading through the Bible with us, then you may recognize these drawings.  This coffee table book will help transform how you see the Bible. It is an entire collection of every biblical book with hand-drawn diagrams alongside short, written summaries of each book. Seeing the literary design of each book helps aid in reading, retention, and understanding.

This book is bigger than I expected.
I don’t have a coffee table big enough for it –
but I do love it.  It’s a great resource!

7. Inkwell Press Weekly and Monthly Planner

My 2020 Planner JUST arrived from Amazon and I am so excited to get planning!  I have chosen the Inkwell Press Planners because they work well for me as I balance being a mom and a blogger. There is space for setting goals in the areas of health, home, and finances and there are daily habit trackers included which I love!  There is also both a monthly calendar and  a place to keep track of my daily to-do lists.

8.  Yankee Candles

I’ve enjoyed the flicker of these candles for over a decade in my home and I always have one going in my kitchen.  I feel like Yankee Candles are very safe, I love all the choices for each season and the scents are perfectly subtle.

9.  12 Pairs of Gold and Silver Dangle Earrings for just $12.99 on Amazon!

I love dangle earrings!  Since these arrived last summer, I wear these ALL of the time and not one has broken.  Yay! 🙂  You really can’t beat this price anywhere.

If you look at my videos and pictures, you’ll see I’m wearing these a lot of the time.
This picture below is from Thanksgiving at my sister’s house.
I’m wearing the dangle earrings, layered necklaces AND the Bohemian bracelets.
I may or may not be a little over accessorized. Lol!

10.  Rae Dunn Everything!

I put a link to Rae Dunn on Amazon because Rae Dunn items are sold there BUT they are way over priced there. I bought all of my Rae Dunn at TJ Maxx and Home Goods. So if you have one of those stores near you, I suggest you look in their housewares section before ordering on-line.

So this is a picture of the front room in my house.
A friend helped me turn my living room into a coffee room!

Here’s some close ups of my Rae Dunn at the Coffee Bar…

Here’s my recent TJ Maxx find! 🙂 . Isn’t it so cute!

So there it is –  my list of 10 of my favorite things!   I think there were more than 10 on the list but I hope something here might help you as you buy gifts for your loved ones.

**Chime In**

  1. I lost my only child, a son, in a motorcycle accident. I lost my father a year and half later. I lost my job of 40 years due to depression and PTSD. So that was another family I lost. I lost my sister and niece due to ill feelings over my Daddys things. The mother of my grandchildren would not let me see them for the first year after my sons death. I get to see them now ( God is awesome) and I don’t know how to explain how there will not be any Santa at grandmas house. It is hard for a 5 and 6 year old to understand that. I pray that Jesus makes them know that I love them even if there are no presents.
One of My favorite things is Gods word where all of His promises are located. A Bible is not that expensive and you never know which promise could save someone.

    1. Dear Pam,

I’m so sorry for your many losses. I cannot imagine how much you have been through and I’m glad you are still holding onto your faith. God loves you so much and He is with you. There is nothing more precious than the unconditional love of a grandmother. Your grandchildren are blessed to have you in their lives. Your faith, hugs, listening ear and time spent with them is more valuable than any present you could give.

I am saying a prayer for you now that God would comfort and strengthen you during this holiday season.
      Much Love,
      Courtney

      1. Oh, me, too! Sweet lady, Pam, may God fill you up with His abundant, beyond understanding peace! My heart goes out to you and I am also adding my agreement and prayers to Courtney’s.
        From one grandma to another,
        ????????❤️

  2. Great choices!! Thanks for sharing. I love Rae Dunn too 🙂 I’ve always liked the jewelry you wear, you always look beautiful and well put together. Unfortunately, my daughters and I have a nickel allergy and are so sensitive to jewelry. I wish these came in surgical steel so we would purchase them! They will make nice gifts though.

  3. Hey Courtney! Love the shares and ideas, thank you! Where is the coffee bar/cabinet from and the pub table and stools if you don’t mind me asking? Your room looks so inviting!

    1. Hi Lisa,

Thank you! The table and stools are directly across from the coffee bar – so they are on the opposite side of the room. There are two windows at the front of the room. So in one picture you can see the right sitting chair and coffee bar and then in the second picture you see the left sitting chair and the table and stools. 😉

      Hope that helps!
      Courtney

        1. OH my goodness! You are right – that is so funny – I totally misunderstood her question.

They are from World Market. 😉

          Thank you for clarifying!
          Courtney 🙂

    2. I’m so sorry – I misunderstood your question. You were asking where the table and stools etc. are from (not where are they in the room – face palm) – they are from World Market.

      Hope that helps!
      Courtney 🙂

  4. Ohhh…love all those options… & your coffee bar/room… and I also would like to know where is that picture from, and the sign…please.

  5. Thanks for sharing, lots of cute ideas! My favorite things right now are earrings and bracelets. I’m a little late to the Kendra Scott obsession but my daughters gave me two pair over the course of last year and I love wearing them. I too love bracelets! My daughter has recently started making glass bead bracelets so I am quite excited, and proud, to wear those right now. I only have three but would be happy to have one to match every outfit I have! 🙂
Merry Christmas!! I appreciate your ministry 🙂

  6. I love bath and body works candles. I’ve only recently discovered them but they’re so good! They don’t last as long as a Yankee candle- but great scents.
