IMPD investigates Sunday homicides on east and west sides

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police detectives are investigating two homicides Sunday, IMPD said, after one man was found unresponsive on the east side and another was found shot on the west side.

Just after 10:50 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 400 block of North Beville Avenue on a death investigation, according to a news release. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Marion County coroner's office identified him Monday as 23-year-old Jordan Perry. He died from a gunshot wound, the coroner's office said.

Less than two hours later, officers responded to reports of a person shot about 12:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Whitcomb Avenue, a news release said.

When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the man dead.

Detectives continue to investigate both slayings, and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the slayings should call the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 or (317-262-TIPS).
