A man traveling eastbound on I-94 drove off the roadway and crashed into a house in Roseville around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

One man's Thanksgiving began with a car crash that would eventually land him in jail.

According to Michigan State Police, troopers were called at 2:30 a.m. Thursday to the 19000 block of Homeland in Roseville after a car crashed into a house.

The driver was traveling eastbound on I-94 near Little Mack Avenue when he lost control, causing him to run off the roadway, crash through a fence and hit an occupied home. The vehicle struck the side of the house and went into the garage, hitting the homeowner's vehicle.

The driver and the homeowner did not suffer any injuries. The man was suspected to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and refused to participate in any preliminary tests. A search warrant was sought, and the driver was arrested.

This is the second recent accident in metro Detroit involving a house. In March, a 69-year-old man died after his car struck a house in Royal Oak.
