During the 2019 Shore Conference boys soccer season, the Asbury Park Press encourages readers to vote for the player of the week

The top vote-getters in all our Player of the Week polls win invitations to the APP Sports Awards at the end of the school year.

The Shore showed up for their players: There were a total of 37,424 votes. Here are the top players of the week:

No. 1. Joe Weinstein, Manasquan,

  • 14,363 votes
  • Weinstein saved two penalty kicks in a shootout as the Warriors advanced past CBA in the SCT semifinals.

2. Adam Havens, Freehold Township

  • 7,600 votes
  • Havens tallied the golden goal against Colts Neck in the SCT semifinals.

3. Tom Samaras, Colts Neck,

  •  6,302 votes
  • Samaras scored the golden goal against Long Branch in the SCT second round.

4. Ryan Tesa, Toms River East

  • 5,750 votes
  • Tesa made three saves during penalty kick shootout against Freehold Boro in the SCT first round. 

5. Jalen Folsom, Toms River South

  • 2,529 votes
  • Folsom saved the final penalty kick as the Indians stunned top-seeded Holmdel in the SCT second round. 

6. Connor Lucas, Jackson Memorial

  • 795 votes
  • Lucas scored the game-winner in the 66th against Neptune in the SCT second round. 

7. Mario Addiego, Southern

  • 52 votes
  • Addiego netted the golden goal in the 76th minute against Middletown South in the SCT second round. 

8. Luke Pascarella, CBA

  • 33 votes
  • Pascarella tallied a hat trick in the SCT first round and converted the game-tying penalty kick in the SCT semifinals.
