BOISE, Idaho — A man accused of sexually abusing two girls was arrested Tuesday after he returned to the Boise area for Thanksgiving.
Investigators say 64-year-old Danny Ray Stoddard is accused of abusing an 11-year-old and an 8-year-old between 2015 and 2017 at a house in south Ada County. Stoddard moved to Mexico in early 2019, detectives say.
The case was not reported to the Ada County Sheriff's Office until last week, when the family of the victims learned that Stoddard would be coming back to the Boise area for Thanksgiving, and reported the case to law enforcement, according to the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives began to investigate, and prosecutors issued a warrant for Stoddard's arrest Tuesday morning. He was arrested on lewd conduct charges later that evening outside a business on Eagle Road.
Stoddard was booked into the Ada County Jail, where he remains held on a $500,000 bond. If convicted, he could face up to life in prison.
