Farmer on “Paid by Trade”

A northwest Missouri crop farmer is featured in Missouri Farm Bureau video series called “Paid By Trade.”

Kyle Durham grows corn and soybeans near Norborne, Missouri.

“We’ve seen with the trade disruptions, you know, anywhere up to a 20% decline in the off-farm price of our grains here in Missouri.”

Durham says the China trade war needs to end and the USMCA needs to be approved.

“For us, and I know for Farm Bureau to, the push is on to get our members of Congress to go ahead and ratify USMCA where we can go ahead and begin to have a little trade certainty going forward.”

Two levee breaches on the Missouri River this year took out three-fourths of Durham’s corn crops and he was unable to plant soybeans.

Durham is a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau and is past Carroll County president.
