As if tensions weren't high enough between University of Michigan and Ohio State with the Wolverine-Buckeyes football game just a few days away, the university student newspapers have decided to take things up a notch.

In anticipation of the college football game, the Michigan student newspaper, The Michigan Daily, and the Ohio State University student newspaper, The Lantern, have launched a new partnership to create a special edition rivalry section released on Tuesday.

This special edition of the paper will be available across Ann Arbor and Columbus featuring stories from both student newspapers.

According to Lantern Advisor Spencer Hunt, “This is first time the student news organizations of Ohio State and Michigan have cooperated to cover The Game and both schools are committed to providing outstanding journalism.”

The collaboration also has a fundraising competition, seeing which student newspaper can raise the most funds before the Wolverine-Buckeyes game on Saturday Nov. 30, 2019.

Donors have also joined in on the fun, with one particular donation totaling $62.39 because "Ohio State beat Michigan 62-39 last year."

The school that receives the most donations will be announced before kickoff.
