Poor Lexi had been in the water for so long, when she was pulled out she was unresponsive. Under an array of blankets, a veterinarian was on the scene and able to assess the situation and revealed that Lexi was suffering from shock and hypothermia.

Lexi was up again after awhile, despite being in a lot of pain, Teplova said. "We still have a battle ahead, trying to make sure she survives," her owner commented. The concern now is any effect Lexi experience from muscle wasting or poor circulation.

"I'm so grateful they were able to make it here. Just hearing their sirens in the back, when they were approaching the property was a big relief."

Thank you to all those who helped rescue Lexi and we wish her a speedy recovery!
