USDA invests in rural distance learning and telemedicine

The USDA has announced it will invest $42.5 million in more than 130 distance learning and telemedicine projects.

The grants are being distributed to 37 states and two U.S. territories and will benefit 5.4 million rural residents.

Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development DJ LaVoy says the agency is committed to improving the quality of life in rural communities and the grants align with recommendations from the Interagency Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity established by President Trump.
