Feds begin process to address propane supply problems
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) says it is initiating a process to address the liquid propane supply problems impacting the Midwest.
The commission says it will use an “alternative dispute resolution (ADR) process” to bring together pipeline companies and shippers to discuss actions they can take to address the problem, which has been mostly due to infrastructure and distribution issues. There is not currently a nationwide shortage of propane.
FERC says the action is the result of communications with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and several members of the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate expressing their concerns over propane distribution and supply difficulties in the Midwest.
