BOISE, Idaho — Volunteers at the Ustick Baptist Church in Boise held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to kick off National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child.
The program is part of the Samaritan's Purse Project, which delivers shoeboxes filled with gifts to children in more than 100 countries.
The shoeboxes contain gifts for kids, from small children to teenagers.
Multiple churches in the Treasure Valley are participating and if you'd like to help out, they can help you create a Christmas miracle.
"There's a lot of list of things you can give, just things for toys, useful things like shoes and socks and things like that," Pastor Mark Post said. "Soccer balls can be packed in these boxes, all kinds of things and just to help kids around the world experience something extraordinary for their lives."
Organizers expect to give out 11 million boxes this year.
