LANSING – Tickets for Michigan State University football's last home game are looking like a deal for Spartan fans.

The Spartans will wrap up their 2019 season by hosting the University of Maryland on Nov. 30, and tickets can be had for as little as $5 plus fees.

With the dispiriting loss to Michigan on Saturday, the Spartans fell to 4-6 for the season and 2-5 in the Big Ten. The team has lost its last 5 games and hasn't tasted victory since hosting Indiana on Sept. 28.

“With the team completely tanking, it’s going to be a cheap ticket,” said Brian Posey, president and CEO of The Ticket Machine in Okemos. “It was always going to be a cheap ticket.”

Posey and other ticket vendors predicted an unexciting lineup for home games this season, which meant Spartan fans could find cheaper tickets for much of the season. A final appearance against the Terrapins, whose current Big Ten record is 0-7, is unlikely to buck the trend.

“We knew this game was going to be an absolute dog,” Posey said.

MSU Athletics ticketing did not respond to a request for comment.

Posey said the season-ending game is always a tough game for attendance, coming right after Thanksgiving, on the last day of firearm deer hunting season and when the weather has turned colder.

Tickets for last year's final home game against Rutgers dropped as low as $2. Spartan fans could snag sideline or end-zone seats for about $6.

For someone looking to check out a game without spending much, Posey said, the final home game is a chance to do that.

Upper-level tickets along the 50-yard line run from $5 to $33, based on prices from StubHub, Ticketmaster, Vivid Seats and The Ticket Machine

MSU Athletics ticketing listed the price for those seats at $50.

Lower-level seats along the 50-yard line can be found from $30 up to $96, based on prices from StubHub, Ticketmaster, Vivid Seats and The Ticket Machine. MSU did not list the regular price for those tickets online.

People can get into the game for less than $10, Posey said, and he's seen “great seats” for about $30.

“If you want to go, it’s cheaper than going to the movies,” Posey said.
