Three arrested in masked robbery near Silver Strand Beach

Two masked suspects entered and robbed a convenience store near Silver Strand Beach in Oxnard on Nov. 3.

Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested three people accused of involvement in the armed robbery of a convenience store near Silver Strand Beach, authorities said Friday.

The incident was reported around 11:40 a.m. on Nov. 3 at the Corner Store, 2425 Roosevelt Blvd. near Oxnard.

Two people wearing masks entered the store and demanded money, lottery tickets, alcohol and tobacco products, deputies said. One of them was carrying a baseball bat, authorities said. Upon receiving the items, the two fled the store into a vehicle a short distance away and drove away, according to authorities.

An off-duty probation officer witnessed the crime and recorded video of the pair fleeing. The video allowed investigators to identify the suspect vehicle. Further investigation identified the suspects as Kevin Andrade, 19, of Port Hueneme; Danny Jacuinde, 22, of Oxnard; and a 17-year-old male out of Oxnard.

Searches were performed at each of the suspects’ residences, uncovering evidence connected to the robbery, according to authorities. All three were also found to be members of an Oxnard criminal street gang, deputies said.

Andrade, Jacuinde, and the 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of robbery, street terrorism and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to authorities. Andrade and Jacuinde were booked into county jail with bail set at $120,000. The juvenile was booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center, according to authorities.
