Milk futures mostly higher, cash dairy mixed

Class III milk futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Friday were mostly higher. November was up $.06 at $20.25 and December was down $.14 at $18.56, while January was $.08 higher at $17.89 and February was up $.09 at $17.30.

Cash cheese blocks were down a penny at $1.89, with one uncovered offer at that price, while barrels were three and a quarter lower at$2.1975, with one uncovered offer at that price.

Butter was unchanged at $2.0675. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $2.0675 and the last uncovered offer was for one load at $2.0775.

Nonfat dry milk was steady at $1.2175. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $1.21 and the last uncovered offer was for one load at $1.225.

Dry whey was up $.0225 at $.32. Two loads were sold, one at $.305 and one at $.315. The last unfilled bid was on one load at $.32.

For the week, block cheddar dropped 8.5% and barrels were 3.5% lower, while butter was 0.8% higher, Grade A nonfat dry milk was up 1.3%, and dry whey gained 5.2%.
