Ethanol production up for seventh week in a row

U.S. ethanol production was higher last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.030 million barrels a day, up 16,000 on the week, for the seventh week in a row with a gain, even as some in the industry struggle with margins and uncertainties about federal policy towards renewable fuels.

Stocks declined 889,000 barrels to 20.985 million, the tightest supply since September 2017.

The USDA recently lowered its’ corn for ethanol use estimate 25 million bushels to 5.375 billion, with the next projection due December 10th. During the 2018/19 marketing year, use was 5.376 billion bushels, while 2017/18 usage totaled 5.605 billion.
