KALAMO TWP. — Police have identified the three people killed in a two-vehicle crash near Charlotte early Monday.

Sharon Mears, 64, Duane Mears, 57, and Sylvia Mears, 81, were killed when their vehicle collided with another vehicle head-on as they drove on M-79 near Lacey Lake Road, Eaton County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jerri Nesbitt said.

All three are from the Charlotte area.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 30-year-old woman from the Vermontville area, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Nesbitt did not say how the three victims are related.

Eaton County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Adam Morris said Monday that investigators believe the crash to be weather-related.
