Ag bankers conference not all doom and gloom

Ag bankers from across the U.S. are in Dallas this week for their annual conference.

Heather Malcom, who chairs the American Bankers Association’s ag and rural bankers committee says while there is a sense of caution about the industry, it’s not all gloom and doom.

“From all farm lenders, it seems like this year might be a little bit better than what we’ve heard the last couple of years,” Malcom says. “There is still some concern with a few more bankruptcies, but overall it seems like the farm economy is going to be a little better this year.”

Malcom is an ag banker from Montana.
