It's official. President Donald Trump will headline another rally in Louisiana next Thursday as first reported by USA Today Network.

Trump announced the date Wednesday night while on stage at the Monroe Civic Center during a rally supporting Republican Baton Rouge businessman Eddie Rispone's bid to unseat Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards in the Nov. 16 election.

Those who want to attend will eventually be able to request free tickets on Trump's campaign website www.donaldjtrump.com/rallies/ The event may not immediately be posted on the website.

It will be Trump's third rally in Louisiana during the governor's campaign.

He came to Lake Charles on the eve of the Oct. 12 primary election before Wednesday's rally in Monroe.

"Senator Kennedy and I have been talking with the White House for weeks about the importance of holding a rally in both northwestern and northeastern Louisiana in advance of the Nov. 16th election," Congressman Mike Johnson, R-Republican, told USA Today earlier this week.

Republican U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy said he also emphasized northwestern Louisiana's importance in the campaign to President Trump.

“The people of Louisiana love Donald Trump, and Donald Trump loves Louisiana," Cassidy said. "I’ve mentioned to him how important northwestern Louisiana is to this campaign. With all these trips to our state, he must be a (LSU) Tiger fan.”

Shreveport-Bossier City is the population hub of Johnson's 4th Congressional District.
