STURGEON BAY - The Door County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 31-year-old inmate, but police say they believe there is no danger to the public.

Chad M. Skarvan left the Door County Jail at 7 a.m. Monday on a work release. As of Tuesday afternoon, he had yet to return, according to a Sheriff's Office press release.

Skarvan was found guilty in April for criminal trespassing to dwelling and stalking. He was serving a nine-month jail sentence.

Police describe Skarvan as a white man with black hair and brown eyes, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds.

Anyone with information about Skarvan's whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 920-746-2416, or their anonymous crime tip line at 920-746-2436.
