NDN Athlete of the Week winner: Jonis Dieudonne, Lely football

Lely High School football player Jonis Dieudonne has been voted the Naples Daily News Athlete of the Week for Oct. 21-26.

Dieudonne, a senior quarterback, combined for 333 yards and three touchdowns passing and rushing in a 25-14 win over Barron Collier. He received 3,416 of 8,690 votes (39.3 percent) in the Daily News' online poll.

Community School swimmer Charles Krauss was runner-up in the Athlete of the Week poll, earning 2,969 votes (34.2 percent). St. John Neumann swimmer Chloe Pankita received 586 votes (6.8 percent)

A new Athlete of the Week poll will be posted at 7 a.m. each Monday, and voting is open until 10 a.m. Thursday. Winners receive an Athlete of the Week T-shirt by BSN SPORTS as well as a Naples Daily News gift bag. A video featuring the winner will be posted Thursday on naplesnews.com.

Football Offense

Jonis Dieudonne, Lely – Passed for 252 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 81 yards and a touchdown in a 25-14 win over Barron Collier

Football Defense

Joe Landy, St. John Neumann – Had three tackles for loss and two sacks in the Celtics' shutout win over St. Petersburg Catholic

Boys Cross Country

Alex Rodriguez, Naples – Was the top Collier County finisher at the Class 3A-District 6 meet, placing sixth and leading Naples to second place as a team

Girls Cross Country

Katie Beam, First Baptist – Finished second overall at the Class 1A-District 6 meet leading the Lions to fourth place as a team

Boys Golf

Ryan Hart, Gulf Coast – Shot a 70 at the Class 3A-Region 3 tournament to place third individually and lead the Sharks to second place

Girls Golf

Addison Klonowski, Naples – Won medalist honors at the Class 2A-Region 3 tournament, shooting a 70 to lead Naples to a regional championship

Boys Swimming

Charles Krauss, Community School – Won the Class 1A-District 6 title in the 100-yard freestyle, winning in a season-best time of 49.26 seconds

Girls Swimming

Chloe Pankita, St. John Neumann – Won district championships in the 200 and 500 freestyles at the Class 1A-District 6 meet

Volleyball

Breanah Rives, Seacrest – Led the Stingrays with 12 kills in a sweep of Tampa Bay HEAT on the road in the Class 2A regional quarterfinals
