Tennessee harvest reports showing above-average yields

Rains brought much-needed moisture to farmers across most of the state.  According to the latest Crop Report from the USDA corn, soybean, and cotton harvests continue with many farmers reporting favorable yields.

Fifty-two percent of cotton has been harvested.

Ninety-six percent of corn has been harvested.

Sixty-two percent of soybeans have been harvested with 96 percent dropping leaves.

Thirty-four percent of winter wheat has been planted and 11 percent has emerged with 69 percent rated good to excellent.

Pasture conditions did improve slightly following the rains to 14 percent good to excellent, but frost hindered any big improvements.
