30% of U.S. corn, 46% of soybeans harvested

The U.S. corn and soybean harvests have yet to break the halfway mark. Both crops saw historically slow planting paces and weather has varied widely from development through harvest.

As of Sunday, 86% of corn is mature, compared to the five-year average of 97%, and 30% is harvested, compared to 47% on average. 56% of the crop is in good to excellent shape, up 1% on the week, but down 12% from this time last year.

94% of soybeans are dropping leaves, compared to 97% normally, and 46% is harvested, compared to the typical pace of 64%. 54% of soybeans are called good to excellent, steady with a week ago and 12% below a year ago.

77% of winter wheat is planted, just ahead of average, and 53% has emerged, matching the usual mark for this time of year.

96% of spring wheat is harvested; it is usually wrapped up by now.

93% of cotton bolls have opened and 40% of the crop is harvested, both ahead of normal, with 41% of the crop in good to excellent condition, a week to week improvement of 3%.

93% of rice is harvested, compared to 94% on average.

43% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are rated good to excellent, unchanged from last week.
