EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A man was injured in a shooting at a bar on Evansville's East Side Sunday night.

Officers were called to Rick's Sports Bar and Family Room at 1531 S. Green River Road around 11:25 p.m. on a report of one shot fired, according to a report from the Evansville Police Department.

Police found a man at the bar with a gunshot wound, identified in the report as 46-year-old Donald Brigham.

EPD Officer Phil Smith told the Courier & Press that the victim was in an argument in the bar's parking lot when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired.

Brigham was responsive when officers arrived, Smith said. He told police he didn't know the man who shot him but said the shooter was a black man wearing a black hoodie.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. A hospital spokeswoman said she had no information about his condition.

The suspect had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

Police are looking for witnesses and checking for surveillance footage in the area. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
