SAN ANGELO — A one night only show mixing puppet parody and "The Golden Girls" is coming to San Angelo in November.

The Golden Girls Show, a puppet parody, brings back the classic best friends from 1980s Miami. Keeping it sassy, classy and hilarious, this show will be a blast from the past.

In real life, only one of “The Golden Girls” is left – 97-year-old Betty White. But in the wonderful world of puppets, all four are still around and sassing it up the way they did so many years ago. “That Golden Girls Show! – a puppet parody,” plays the Aronoff Center Oct. 19-20.

"Devoted fans will fondly remember our four girls from Miami, and for the first-timers, this will be a joyful introduction to the brilliance of that television series," according to the show's website.

The Golden Girls is a television show from 1985-1992 that followed four previously married women living in Miami. Together, they became famous for witty comebacks, humorous adventures and being best friends.

The original cast included Betty White as Rose Nylund, Bea Arthur as Dorothy Zbornak, Rue McClanahan as Blanche Devereaux and Estelle Getty as Sophia Petrillo. White is the last living Golden Girl.

The show will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at sanangelopac.org. It is rated PG-13 due to adult themes and profanity.
